However I agree - good they spotted something major before release. Though it doesn't inject me with a lot of confidence that this happened last minute. Given Avid's track record with "new features" and "rewrites" they usually introduce the worst bugs one can think of (random full range noise blasts anyone?).
I sure keep my 2018.12.0 install around. It runs great minus a few hiccups here and there (on the latest Mojave mind you). Pretty happy with this release myself, and I couldn't care less about a 2019 upgrade that brings a handful underwhelming features accompanied by the very real risk of overwhelming disastrous surprises down the road.

Avid had started their Pro tools media run up on social. It’ll be out early week.

Unless they have specifically mentioned the new release, the social media push is due to NAB that is coming up. That is all. Happens every year.

See the post from EddieJones 3 from the bottom

http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=403756

"Unfortunately, Pro Tools has been delayed again due to some issues out of our control. The EUCON release was finished, but as it has some extensive work in Pro Tools for a couple of the features I can't let it out. It would cause a lot of confusion and breakages with older versions.
I'm going to use this time(weeks not months) to fix some more bugs and improve performance, particularly with S6."

I hope I'm not being greedy, but how about compatibility with Mojave?

it is the same or worse with Hardware .. New Computers / New OS's ... ouch .. i asked many years ago,if they could have a Propreitary Hardware Box with in's and out's and whatever it takes to make it do One Thing .. Record and Playback X number of Tracks no matter what plugins or instruments are on those tracks ..

long ways from that it seems ..

personally, i think the biggest problem, is them trying to make protools all things to all people, and ultimately failing for everybody....pick a market and make it the best....instad of a bug ridden watered down vanilla everything, that just sorta works.....

I hope they don’t do that. Every competitor has a broad palette of features for everything, music, post, recording, mixing, mastering.
So why should PT only pick Post for instance?

And i think it‘s better to delay a release instead of releasing something bad.
Even though we all pay for more regular updates and new features.

Maybe Avid‘s goal is to get a new modern software base of PT and this takes a lot of time and resources and slows down new development. Once this is finished they can speed up for the new features. Wishful thinking, but who knows...
