Default lost 002R INPUT fixed w/powercycle?

So I was doing a long tracking/OD session (approx 24 trks/lots of plugs/buffer at 128/CPU approx 25%) and suddenly lost all INPUT signal to my 002R. Outputs still fine, but no inputs. Did not think to check I/O setups at the time, but I DID try different mics, pres, analog ins, different ADAT ins...still no input signal at all. Saved the session, power-cycled both the computer and the 002R, and the inputs came back just fine. Have not been able to re-create the problem. What happened? The system is rock-solid...a rare crash. I'm running LE 6.9.cs(latest cs), Win XP Pro with SP2, on a (slight variation) Allenstein machine, all recommended WIN XP setup optimizations are done, etc. The 002R has the post-power-harness-problem serial number, so I believe the power harness is not the cause (plus it all worked except for INPUT signals). Maybe the LE software just got temporarily corrupted and relaunching PT reestablished the I/O setup? I guess I'll sleep better knowing what caused it. Appreciate any ideas!!!

If the last letter of your serial number is G or later in the alphabet, you are "post-power-harness-problem".

Well, seeing as how nobody will answer my original post, we might as well hi-jack it to solve this one!!! I honestly can't recall where I got that info re serial numbers. DUC or Digi site?. Anybody? (Any thoughts re my original question still...appreciated)

Still not sleeping,
Gary

hey thanks... i'll have to check mine, i have the 002 not the rack version i wonder if it's the same?... as for your problem it's possible that the program itself got glitchy, i've had times when i'll do an operation and then all the sudden things go weird, not working etc etc and the only cure is a reboot or relaunch of the program. I'll tell ya that if i've become a master at anything in ProTools it's the CTRL+S after every edit/take or change

I'm also wondering it the power harness still could be the issue? i'm sure even with systems after the problem was fixed that it could still happen, I highly doubt that Digi-design was able to design/build an "Unbreakable" part... but you never know? they are the industry standard!!! with their 32 track limit.... No Automatic Plug-in delay compenstaion... hehehehe...

hope you figure out the problem...

ouch... the last number in my serial on the 002 is "E"???... i've had it for over 2 years now no problems thus far, but i think now i will contact Digi and tell them it's fried just so i can have a back-up on hand.
