SOS No playback sound after recording

This is very frustrating...hope that somebody can help me... I can record with monitor but it doesn't playbck....

The interface Im using is Duet 2, and I've been recording vocals fine with Garageband and there has been playback after recording. After installing Pro Tools 10 and activation and everything, I can record vocals and everything seems to be fine, I changed the playback engine in Setup to Duet and IO input and output seem to be right, and monitor is on, everything sounds fine while recording, and the initial beep sound to indicate the beginning of recording can be heard. But after the recording, I click play and there's no playback sound, and the output on Duet goes full blast as if exploded and no sound...as if the output is put to sleep, not just that, no sound would come through any other audio resource either, for example if I open iTunes and there would be no sound, and this all happens after recording, and I check the settings on Duet 2 and Pro Tools setups and see NO CHANGE. And then I have to quit Pro Tools and open it again and start all over again so there would be sound while recording, but still no playback sound again and the output is dead again. I've already uninstalled Pro Tools and re-installed it but the same problem still happens. It never happens if I'm using garageband.

*I don't have an external hard drive at the moment but the computer has 250G space partitioned.

After recording, when playing back : do you have Input Monitoring still activated ?
In the preferences : do you have checked " Deactivate Input Monitoring when un-arming record-enable, while stopped" (or similar, I have the menu in German)

When playing back and not hearing something : try Alt+K

Thanks for the advice. I have tried disabling monitoring but it's still the same-----output volumes on Duet shows full blast as if too loud, while actually no sound comes out. And then monitoring stops working, completely no sound is coming out unless I restart Pro Tools to record again but then the same thing happens..... I'm very frustrated now : (

Too complicated for me, or for analysing the problem from a distance.
Are you sure, you do not route some bus back to itself (feedback) ?
Do you have a snapshot of your mix window (and I/O) setup ?
Tried trashing prefs and databases ?

screenshots of during recording and playing back. During playing back, the track in pro tools shows no volume, however, Duet 2 shows paused full bars. but no sound.

Do you see any level in your Master fader meter when you hit play?

Do you see any level on your track when you hit play?

Perhaps, use a second drive as recommended by AVID to record to. Recording to the same drive (regardless if it works with other DAWs) is not recommended.

Also the google photos are too small, unfortunately.
A screenshot of just the mix window and just the I/O-setups would be helpfull. (Mac Screenshot : Cmd+Shift+A)

In the input section of your I/O setup i might see a doubling of inputs.
Do use the aggregate I/O (Duet with Build-in) ?
Hard to see something ... .
In the Bus-section of the I/O : which bus is assigned to what output ?

I have double checked Bus and output and they are the same output1-2. However, I think I've found something. Since there's no playback, I close the session, and then re-opened it trying to see if there would be any playback, however, once it's re-opened, there's no waveform anymore, and a pop up window says session was made inactive because some paths were missing. And the detailed report says input 1 is missing stem. That's all I get. I did use input 1 for the recording, but during the recording there was waveform, but when playing back, the stem is missing, what does that mean?
