I have a similar issue where the Master Ipad is being incorrectly detected as 'Remote' in EuControl. In my case I have 3 Ipads linked to 3 Avid S1s and 1 Ipad as the Master which is linked to the Dock.
If I understand correctly when a second Master Ipad is added it becomes a Remote Ipad. However, I am not adding a second Master Ipad. There are 3 other ipads but these are all linked to Avid S1s. So, Im still a bit confused why this happening however I did eventually find a solution... I removed all surfaces from 'My Surfaces' in EuControl. Then I added the Master Ipad first. Then the Avid Dock. Then the Avid S1s, then the other 3 Ipads (dropped on top of the S1s). Hopefully this is helpful to others.
