Sorry so long joining in here again. I finally had a reply to my ASC report. This is the method the chap has quoted to reproduce the bug:

We have something very similar logged as a bug.

Steps to reproduce are as follows:

1. Create a new 48k session.
2. Enable the "Copy Files on Import" and "Convert Copied Files to Session Format" preferences.
3. Drag in a mix of different files into the session, forcing multiple conversions. Try dragging into an interleaved and non interleaved session with non-interleaved and interleaved files, mixed sample rates, bit depths, and file formats.
4. Attempt to play or preview audio.

It's highly intermittent, so difficult to reproduce, but it is in our CS critical bugs queue, so we are hoping to have this resolved very soon.

Thanks for the reply. The thread at the DUC is getting names added by the day. Your steps to reproduce seem more elaborate than what most people are experiencing to trigger the bug.

In my case, it seems to be related to a re-shuffle of the mixing DSP, ie: when I add a track to an audio sub group, or duplicate a track feeding a bus, sometimes the whole bus refuses to output audio or certain random tracks feeding this bus stop sounding. Yesterday I had a situation where most of the session stopped passing audio.

If it's any use to engineering to track down, I use a master "print" bus (ie: Bus 1-2) and therefore almost all the tracks and busses in my sessions are feeding into this master bus. Sometimes it's the output of a sub group that refuses to feed out to this master bus (can see it metering audio, but no sound) and flipping the output of the sub and back again fixes this. Other times it seems to be individual tracks that are feeding a sub and not the master print bus that need to be flipped to come back to life.

I've been on PT 10 for a week, and I just started seeing this 2 days ago. Didn't really change any of my workflow. Delete all prefs but to no effect...

Hi guys, what kind of system do you have ?
Maybe we have all a very similar system..

I have a TDM system with a Magma PER64 expansion chassis (PCI)..

1 HD CORE CARD
3 ACCEL CARD
2 PROCESS CARD

Problem seems to arise when creating new tracks, or when changing the assignment from a bus to a physical out... or when I instantiate rats plugins (that obviously steal voices..)

Problem seems more evident when the mixing session is near to the maximum use of all the dsp chips... (at least 4 of the 6 cards are full)...

Same here - PE6R4 with the same exact card config as you. Also, I also see this problem with big sessions that take up a good portion of the cards.

I've got HDX on order - curious to see if the problem goes away when I get it.

Same problem... Pretty basic 88.2kHz mixing sessions with 50-60 tracks playing. Audio tracks simply quit playing back after creating auxes or importing session data. Making the silent track inactive and then back active again or re-opening the session resolves the issue...
