10.4.10 & PT 7.4 already installed / QT and iTunes Update?

Anyone running 10.4.10 and PT LE 7.4 on an intel mac, do the Quicktime 7.3 and iTunes 7.5 update ?

All you need to do is download the 10.4.10 combo updater (it needs to be the full combo update) and reinstall that. that will get things going again.

I just did the download and I can't launch PT. Help. What do I need to reinstall?

I have a similar problem -- I've installed Pro Tools 7.4 on a Mac running 10.4.10 and the installer says it failed. On startup, the system is telling me that certain system extensions are installed incorrectly and can't be used... namely DigiDal.kext, DigiIo.kext, and Firewireaudio.kext. When I launch Pro Tools, it seems to behave normally until I try to open or start a session, at which point it tells me that all my (five) drives can't be used to record or play back -- and this can't be changed in the Workspace window. I've tried re-installing the combo 10.4.10 and run the Prebinding repair program as recommended, but it doesn't help. Do I have to downgrade my system to 10.4.9 or does anyone know another fix?

I have the same problem.

Not only with 7.4, but when I tried to go back to the other versions, I received the same error message.

I did all the possible fixes/updates/uninstalls that I could do - still nothing is working; and I used to have such a rock-solid system. : (

I have a Macbook 2.16 GHz and am running 10.4.10. I was running PTLE 7.3.1 (needed to running pre-binding script to get PT to launch), then updated to the QT and iTunes latest, no issues or need to run the pre-binding script again.
Then I went to PTLE 7.4, no issues at all so far, or, again, the need to re-run the pre-binding script. All working fine. Now dare I go to 10.5!!! I'm in mid project so not yet I feel.

Please note that Digidesign has not tested and does not officially support OSX 10.4.10. Unless you specifically need to update your OS for other reasons, we don't recommend updating until you have checked the latest Digidesign compatibility information, and NEVER use the Software Update for your OSX updates. Use the Combo Installer from the Apple site instead.

That said, some of the problems y'all are experiencing sound like prebinding issues, which can break when the Software Update OS updater is used.

Unfortunately I've already tried that pre-binding repair utility and it wasn't able to find or fix any problems. I wonder if I can use Pacifist to force-install those missing Kext files? Or is it really a matter of reinstalling my system, if I want to use Pro Tools 7.4...?

I am pretty sure it's the Quicktime updates that play havoc with PT's, I don't think itunes hurts anything. I try to stay away from QT updates all together
