Pro Tools 12, audio distorts and then computer crashes

I was running Pro Tools 12, when my audio started distorting really badly. I attempted to restart Pro Tools, but my computer crashed in the process. I restarted my computer and ran Pro Tools again, and the same thing happened; I got audio distortion and then my computer crashed. I have no issues with running anything else besides Pro Tools, so that is obviously what's causing it. Any solutions to the problem?
