What can I expect?
Hey all! I thought I'd post here, as I can't seem to find a sales contact email or number anywhere on Avid's website... Seems like a bit of an oversight there.
I bought the Complete Production Toolkit when Pro Tools 9 was the latest version. Last year sometime I decided to upgrade to version 10. (Well I bought an upgrade and got both 10 and 11) I've kept using PT10 because the CPTK is incompatible with PT11. I see Avid offer an upgrade path for people who own version 10 and the CPTK, but my understanding was that Pro Tools HD requires some form of Avid hardware, be it HDX or HD native, to function. If I were to buy this upgrade, would I be able to run PTHD as a software-only option? Or would this be a bad idea? Hoping someone can shed some light on this before I spend £500 or so and find out it doesn't work as expected. |
