Default Buying Mac on Sweetwater

I just called Sweetwater to negotiate a deal on an entire DAW package: Computer, Interface and PT 11. The offered $300 off the entire purchase; I was obviously hoping for more! Anyways, has anyone bought a Mac thru these guys? I wanted to buy direct from Apple, but figured that I'd get a better package deal if I bought everything with them. However when I was looking at the specs on their Macs, I noticed the same MacBook Pro that's loaded w/ the Yosemite OSX in the Apple Store comes with the Maverick OS X from Sweetwater. I didn't notice this until after I hung up with the Sweetwater rep. Any clue why they do this? I'm not sure why I'm hesitant buying the Mac via Sweetwater, but this doesn't help.

Thanks,
Adam

I'm sure it's because Sweetwater's stock was purchased before Yosemite was released. Apple can update their stock pretty easily. Don't see why this would make it less appealing to buy through SW as long as the computer is the same. You can upgrade to Yosemite right out of the box.

Ya, but wouldn't I have to pay for the Yosemite upgrade? I'm not 100% sure, but I think all the other specs are the same as on the Apple Store

I'm not a bid Mac guy, but they're probably holding off on Yosemite until most of the DAW/Interface manufacturers are fully Yosemite compatible. Pretty much there now.

I have ordered a few things from Sweetwater before (not the amount you're talking about), and they are probably one of the best online retailers I've ever dealt with.
