Quick question on the FAQs. It says to install part 2 I need to be on line can I use my home computer & hook my eleven rack to that computer for that part & then a thumb drive for the files to bring to my recording computer? Or do I need to both the bullet & drag my recording PC from the basement to the router upstairs & hook it up with an ethernet cable. I don't mind as long as version 2.0.1 in not due in next month.

i would prefer to keep my recording PC offline.

It will want to install the ui files in the plugins folder of pro tools. so not sure if it will create the folders and place them in there. Will also have to have the 11r drivers installed on the Internet machine to recognize it. So in other words, I don't know but am guessing it would be ok??

I tested things to make sure that even if Pro Tools is not on your machine, the installer will create the folders it needs to complete the install, after which it places the FW Updater portion on your desktop.

Steps for philcan's question:

1. Run the ERXP installer on your Pro Tools system.
2. The install places an 'Avid Eleven Rack' folder or app on your desktop.
3. Take this new installer from the desktop and bring it (let's say on a thumb drive), with your Eleven Rack and a USB cable, to your online computer.
4. Download the appropriate Eleven Rack Driver from http://www.avid.com/drivers and install it (you need it on the non-Pro Tools system so that ELeven Rack can be seen by it to do the update).
5. Connect the thumb drive to your online computer and run the Avid Eleven Rack Updater.
6. Enter the serials as instructed, and the new Firmware will install.
7. After it installs the firmware, take everything back to your Pro Tools system, plug it all in, launch Pro Tools, and you should be good to go.

(It's not as awful as it looks, and the FW Updater is only about 7 MB).

they are still up man, you probably clicked an old link, i removed a couple vid's and replaced them with better audio.
