I just bought an Mbox 3!
Actually, it is called an Avid Mbox.

Went to Guitar Center in Nashville at 11am to buy an Mbox 2, and the guy comes back from the warehouse with the new one. Discounted price $590 vs $449 for the Mbox 2.

The guy said it had been shipped in this morning, Monday Sept. 13. At first, it wasn't in the system and he said he couldn't sell it yet, then he went to the warehouse to check again, and by then they had input it into the system.

Grey enclosure, sits flat, rounded corners left and right, flat front and back. Combined 1/4" and XLR mic/line inputs. Same other inputs and controls as mbox 2. That's all I know so far. Need to read, install, etc. Shipped with LE v 8.0.4

...now... Avid? Anything? Your retailers are selling the damn things... least you could do is make an announcement instead of trying to get everyone to take down the pictures of products that are already being sold.

Any chance of posting a picture or two, so we can see the packaging and so on? Is it metal? It looks it from the pictures, but it's hard to tell! Thanks!

I'm thinking that Avid isn't as inept as to not have a master plan. At least... there is new product, so it's not like we aren't going to get anything at all. I'm sure that something must be coming soon. Good things come to those who wait.

Let's remember, GC is known for being a bit quick to the draw when it comes to these sort of things.
