avid knows what we all really want is the dang HD features so why not throw us a nice upgrade discount towards HDN or HDX?! at this point, i'm speculating that all the toolkit nonsense will be absorbed into pt11 so why would any of us want to drop more into an ever diminishing toolkit set that may be gone in the next version?

Sheesh, that's still pretty spendy for an upgrade. I was considering upgrading my 2 licenses and bringing all three of my rooms back to Avid from Nuendo but I don't see that happening any time soon at these prices. John.

Seems fair to me, it is the price differnce between the two toolkits.

650 Euros for German customers. $800 for US customers, right ?
DVToolkit1/2 to CPTK2 upgrade.

That's almost a tripling in price. Looks like a pattern. Looks like they'll take whatever they can get. Looks desperate.

But at least there is some kind of option now.

Let's hope those morons actually make an announcment way more in advance the next time they pull upgrade option from the store.

Well, they do deserve both a little praise and lots of scalding. And I haven't heard any engineer talk about them this nicely as I just have because of the rather mediocre handling of the CPTK upgrade. Never mind how nice and talented some of the Avid folks are.
