performance again
I have an Intel 815E-PIII 800Mhz with 5120MB RAM based system running PTLE 5.1.1 on Windows 98SE (On a dual-boot system - the other system is Win2K) with DIGI001 - This should be a mean setup but I'm still getting these annoying "increase H/W buffer size errors" even when using a only few tracks without any plugins at all. WHY OH WHY??
I am using two separate IBM Deskstar 100ATA 30GB IDE Drives, with the Microsoft controller drivers installed and DMA enabled. I have followed all of Digidesign's recommendations and disabled all possible devices (internet or ethernet etc.) The video card is an Nvidia GeForce 2 GTS with detonator 3 drivers. Could the problem be with the video card? Would appreciate anyone's help in improving preformance. |

Re: performance again
Hi there,
could you try a few things just to make sure: 1) Enable HD DMA: Go to My computer->Control Panel->System->Disk Drives(or sth similar) select a harddisk, hit properties, hit settings, and enable the check mark for DMA. Do this for all hard drives and CD(RW) drives one by one. 2) Launch Pro Tools, click Setups, Hardware and select a different (larger) H/W buffer size 3) click Setups, DAE Buffer size, select a larger size probably one of these will work. |
