Default Venue Profile - Stage talkback mics between band and monitor engineer?

Hey guys, I'm currently on the road with a band and wanted to know if anyone was familiar with setting up stage communication between monitor engineer & band on a profile? We strictly use IEMs and have a couple of Radial Hotshot footswitch's so they can use their own vocal mics as comm mics, but I'm struggling on figuring out how to make it so I can always monitor those two inputs without having to incorporate them in to each band members mix. Any suggestions?

if you can maybe make this happen via a matrix and its "user inputs" maybe you can have the TALK input routed to the matrix directly and from there to a shout box or so.

next step for me would be trying to hardpatch the monitor out to a matrix, matrix out to a headphone pre, and from there to IEM. this way you can listen to more then just your solo/afl.

i never tried this but i would give it a shot!

I do this every day. Route your monitor output to an aes out, loop that connection back to aes in, patch the aes in to a buried console input channel, route that as the only channel going to the L/R buss. Now route the L/R to a stereo matrix output. At this point the master fader is your cue level and you are driving your cue mix out of the stereo matrix. So now on the matrix mixer, simply assign any talkbacks you want always on to user channels and route them into the cue matrix. Voila. Always on talkbacks, even if your cue level fader is down. I also like to add in FOH TB and walkie talkies.
