Default Channel starting to feedback as soon as its record enabled

I am using mbox2 and now I am having this feedback as soon as I click record enable on the channel and it is totally unworkable. I have my setting as Input: IN1 Output: OUT1-2. I went back to setup-I/O to make everything back to default but it still does not work. I am sure the problem is not caused by my microphone because the feedback is still on even when the Mic is not connected to mbox 2 so I am sure this is some PT internal problem. I am not sure if 7.42 is causing this problem but I did not have this problem before I updated my Pro Tool. Thanks for taking the time to read this post, any help will be appreciated. Thanks again.

need more info, what OS version? What model computer? can you start a whole new session choosing default I/O right from the beginning? not "Last Used" can you try input 2? does it do the same? Did you try restarting the computer for the heck of it?
