Ctrl Key Doesn't Work
Weird, weird problem. The Ctrl modifier key works only with SOME commands since I upgraded to PT2019.5.
It DOESN'T work with the following commands (nothing happens when I push these key combinations): Ctrl + A for Select All Ctrl + Q for Quit Ctrl + S for Save Ctrl + Shift + N for New Tracks Ctrl + = to switch between Mix and Edit windows It DOES work for the following commands: Ctrl + Tab to move to next track when renaming tracks Ctrl + Mouse Drag for fine fader movement I've tried trashing all preferences. Can you guys suggest anything else?

Any chance caps lock is on (maybe the caps lock key LED is faulty)? I am not sure it will do this, but worth checking. (Try typing text into some other window/program).

Thanks Daryll. No, the caps lock works properly in other programs. So does the Ctrl key.
Even weirder update: sometimes my Ctrl key works properly in PT. In the same session, without closing and restarting anything, sometimes the Ctrl key will work and sometimes it won't.

I would pop up the Windows on-screen keyboard and confirm that Windows is seeing the key combinations as you enter them. Also try entering them on the on-screen keyboard.
I recently thought I was going nuts with problems with a Mac keyboard using an app unrelated to audio... we suspect Apple at some time changed some low level key event handling for the numeric keypad keys... anyhow found the issue and got a fix in the application (iTerm2). Did question my sanity for a while.

By chance I was reading you thread and I realized my Ctrl + . doesn't work in 2019.5 to stop recording and delete take. Is this working in your system?

Update:
Ctrl + . only works correctly if I don't have destructive record set as the record mode. In any other record mode Ctrl + . works as expected. Don't know if this is the correct behavior so can someone else confirm if this one way or the other?

Ctrl + . does not work in Loop or Destructive record. This is expected behaviour. You also cannot Undo recording in these modes.

Can anyone help me out? I'm still struggling with this. Not having basic copy and paste shortcuts is killing me, never mind switching between mix and edit views!
