Does anyone know about AudioEase? When will Altiverb go AAX?
From Audioease website:

"Altiverb 7 RTAS and Altiverb 7 XL RTAS and TDM both run fine in ProTools 10.
Altiverb 7 does not yet support the new AAX format for the Avid HDX systems.
This work is underway however it is unsure when it will release. Consequently we cannot say anything definitive about upgrade fees, if any at all."

Altiverb is great. I use it as RTAS on an HDX2 system. I have a template with 20 reverbs. The only thing I noticed is the Rtas version is dryer than the tdm version.

Yeah, I read that, too. Just thought, maybe someone heard anything more specific as to when to expect it.
I'm native, so yeah, RTAS. And in most sessions I use 4 heavily automated 5.0 instances, which (in combination with a few Speakerphones) suck pretty much at my CPU.
Was hoping, this might get better with AAX (without really knowing, what can be expected from AAX performancewise).

Meads,

Strange, I have the same Nehalem 8 core computer. The 20 Altiverbs are the only RTAS plugins I used. All the rest are dsp and my computer is at 20 % cpu usage. I haven't try speakerphone on my HDX yet but remember it was cpu hungry on my HD6 system. I will try to test speakerphone later this week to see if I run into the same problem.

I don't know when to expect Altiverb AAX, but if you use the development of v7 as an example of how long it takes Audioease to code and debug a major upgrade, I wouldn't hold my breath. That isn't a necessarily a bad thing if it means the new version works well. Better it take longer and be done correctly than to rush out a buggy version that creates all sorts of issues. The question is whether they code a DSP version, and if so, will it work better than the current TDM version, which IMO is inferior to the RTAS plugin. At this point the RTAS version works well with PT10, so I wouldn't expect them to be in a rush to deliver AAX until PT11 is widely adopted and they are forced to.

I agree,

Altiverb 7 took a lonnnnnng time to be released and I don't expect an AAX version before the end of this year. I would love to see a AAX dsp version but only if the coding is made properly and it doesn't take 4 HDX chips per 5.1 instance.

I can confirm I have both Reverb One and Revibe II in my aax plug-in folder on my HDX system running 10.1.2

I would like to add a vote for the TSAR-1 reverb from Softube.

Can you post the link to where the AAX version is? I still only see the PT9 version.

Thanks
