PT training and certification in the UK?
Hello!
After years of using different DAWs - mostly Logic and Nuendo - I've decided it's time to bite the bullet and get PT certification. I'm in the UK, near Birmingham, so does anyone know if there's anywhere in or around Birmingham that does training and cetification? Any suggestions much appreciated. Cheers, Ben |

Re: PT training and certification in the UK?
Hi Ben
I'm near Brum myself. Don't know to anywhere locally. The Digidesign site lists London as the nearest. Might be worth contacting Sound Control in Snow Hill as they are authorised dealers, they may know somewhere? Paul

Re: PT training and certification in the UK?
I did a course at South Thames College in Wandsworth, London. It's well regarded. We had a guy commuting from Edinburgh to attend, and a guy from South Africa - who then smoked so much he failed the course.
I was lucky to live down the road. I'd recommend the place, but it depends on what you want. They have 3 PT equipped recording studios, and teach PT and Cubase on G5s. They've probably started teaching Logic by now. |

Re: PT training and certification in the UK?
Thanks guys.
I'll give Sound Control and Digital Village in Brum a call - maybe they know somewhere local. Wandsworth would be a bit tough for me to get to really, being all that way round the M25 from where I am. Somewhere in north London would be more of a goer. I'll keep my eyes peeled. Do any of you know roughly how much it'll cost to get certified? Or does it vary from place to place...? I think I need to do the 201 course, then the 210P, then the certification exam - any clues on what I should budget for this? Again, all help appreciated. Cheers |

Re: PT training and certification in the UK?
I found Alchemea's price list:
http://www.alchemea.com/pages800/PT7.html Is it worth spending an extra £500 on the 210P course over the 210M course? Though I guess the answer is "it depends what you want to learn". |
