2gb files wont transfer into protools
I recorded a long concert on my mackie SDR (4 hours) and the files are 2.22 GB. They wont transfer into protools as protools says they are unreadable by protools. I can play them in quicktime and they sound fine. Also, the soundcheck which is only 1hr transfers just fine. How can i fix this?

Re: 2gb files wont transfer into protools
Might sound like a dumb question, but are you using the import feature to bring your audio in? also check disk allocation and set it out as far as you can.

Yes Im using the import function and the disc allocation is set to max. More ideas? Protools seems to think these arent valid files

Re: 2gb files wont transfer into protools
Maybe export or save as in QT as wave files again, and make sure the bit depth and sample rate are compatable with PT.

Re: 2gb files wont transfer into protools
If you look at the Properties of these files in QT, what are the format, bit depth and sample rate set to?

Re: 2gb files wont transfer into protools
I dont know what you mean by checking properties in quicktime, but both the 1 hour sound check files (which open just fine) and the 4 hour files (which do not) are 24 bit 44.1kHz. The exact problem is that protools says, Track 1-tk1.wav is unreadable by protools. I have never had this problem before and all that I can think is that the files are too large.

I don't think it is a size isue, do like I sugested and Digi sugested and check the files and resave them even if you do not change the settings. Also the mono sugestion is a good one as well.

Try renaming the file to "whatever you like".wav

Re: 2gb files wont transfer into protools
I have tried to recopy them from the original drive (a mackie sdr drive) no change. I have tried renamming them. No change. Tried moving the renamed files to another drive. No change. I should mention that my computer is a mac and that this just ended up in the PC forum by mistake. However, still looking for ideas.

Download Header Investigator from www.railjonrogut.com and check the parameters of the file(s).
