Low Latency Monitoring issue with third-party interface
Hello everyone.
I'm doing voiceover recording with Low Latency Monitoring option enabled. Before, I used Pro Tools Ultimate with a Native HD card and an HD I / O interface (Mac). But now, I'm doing the same thing with an Apogee Ensemble interface. Unfortunately, I have a problem when I want to punch. With the HD Native card, I click on play, we hear the beginning of the previous take, then I start recording. With a third-party interface, when listening to the previous take (play mode) we also hear what comes directly from the microphone. Which is embarrassing in my case. Is it possible to change that? Thank you very much for your advice |

Re: Low Latency Monitoring issue with third-party interface
Shooting from the hip here as I have not used the Ensemble, but I would turn LLM off and set the Playback Buffer to 64. I have run that way for years(with DIGI003 and HD/Native) and never had any issues at all, as long as I remember to not use any high-latency plugins while recording

Re: Low Latency Monitoring issue with third-party interface
You are hearing hardware monitoring. LLM enabled disables software monitoring though Pro Tools.
You disable hardware monitoring in Mastero or Apogee Control, which you will need to do if enabling software monitoring. |

Re: Low Latency Monitoring issue with third-party interface
I use a Symphony so this might help or might not...
In the Maestro software, set your out 1-2 (or whatever your monitors are connected to) to "Mixer 1" in the software outputs. Then you can use the mixer tab to control your levels, mutes etc for LLM. |

Re: Low Latency Monitoring issue with third-party interface
Hello everyone,
Thanks a lot for your answers. Quote:
And I think that since the 2018.7 version it is no longer necessary. Quote:
But in this case, I have no sound at all. So my problem is rather that: I have no sound when the LLM option is enabled. Does anyone have an idea? thank you so much |

Re: Low Latency Monitoring issue with third-party interface
Sounds like you want to enable Auto Input Monitoring.

If you want to use hardware monitoring then you should start by troubleshooting that and get it working, with no Pro Tools software running. |
