Default HD upgrade pricing?

My understanding is that the price has gone DOWN for an upgrade path from HD3 PROCESS pcix to HD3 Acell pci e.

I don't see any mention of it in the new pricing--- anyone know the scoop?

i wonder ...is that better than trying to sell the HD cards i have then upgrade or is this a "generous" offer...bottom line...i'd be downgrading to HD3 from HD4 with out a latency filled expansion chassis?

i'll think holding may be the best for me unless someone has a better idea

Here is what i found..

As for the Cross-Grade from PCI to PCI-E here is the latest info on that...

http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...0&itemid=24558

Here’s a basic run down:

HD1- to PCI-e $1795.

HD2 Accel- to PCI-2 $2795.
HD2- to PCI-e $3295.

HD3 Accel- to PCI-e $3795.
HD3- to PCI-e $4295

Other upgrades are avail, this just gives you a rough idea... And of course you will pay more to upgrade the orginal “non-Accel” HD Proicess cards than you will pay for one of the new Accel cards...

yep, that's what I heard, it went DOWN from 5500 last year! I was about to do the chassis and new comp, or g5 2.7 as a temp fix, but they now make it almost affordable...

maybe if I wait like 3 years they'll just GIVE me a new rig?

I know one thing for sure... i've got a processor upgraded g4 to 1.42, and it is NOT playing well with 7.2,and virtually NO RTAS.

i might have to do it.... now to find out if it's solid on the intel platform.

Strange. I have also 1.42 GHz processor upgrade. No problems with 7.2 or RTAS.

Here’s a basic run down:

HD1- to PCI-e $1795.

HD2 Accel- to PCI-2 $2795.
HD2- to PCI-e $3295.

HD3 Accel- to PCI-e $3795.
HD3- to PCI-e $4295
The $4295 price for HD3 (non-Accel) to HD3 PCIe is the same price during the crossgrade that expired December 20th. That's when I purchased my crossgrade. I think what is cheaper now than before is the Mix upgrades.
