MIDI Problems Multiple X Note Appearing

Hey everyone, I am sure I seen a thread somewhere on this problem but I cant seem to find it, so my apoligies if this is a repeat here

Everything was fine until I added my Axiom 49 to the MIDI controller section in peripherals. This is so I can use faders, knobs etc.

But now everytime I play anything a little square note appears with an X (see here), to get rid of it I must move my original note off it and delete it it 4 times.

This could be a couple things. The first to check is that you don't have multiple zones enabled on the Axiom - doing so will send one MIDI note for each zone.

The second would be to check your 'Default Thru Instrument' in Preferences>MIDI - try changing it to something else and see if the problem disappears.

There also could be a 'dual MIDI input' problem. Are you using the USB connection, the MIDI connection or both to go to your computer? You should only use one or the other...
