Offline Bounce Wish List
So I thought I would post an Offline Bounce wish list thread. A positive thread. Please no negative comments.
With the advent of a 64 bit program (PT 11) and a new plug in formatwe can only guess that off line rendering is next in line to be added to PT. So here is my wishlist. Feel free to add yours as well. 1. Freeze track across selected tracks This would allow a user to select any combination of audio and instrument tracks to freeze while leaving others to use the plug ins they have. When a track is frozen, it should keep the inserts but disable plugins until you unfreeze the track 2. Freeze Aux Tracks as effects only This would allow a user to freeze a pre/post fader send aux track such as reverbs and delays or parallel compression but not have the send source present in the bounce. Useful when working at a studio or mix where you have that magic sound but you may not own the plug in where the session will be taken next. Also useful for stem prints. 3. Bounce multiple outputs at once When mixing audio for video, the RTD option is of great use for me. I can print all of my mixes at once. Dialogue, Music, Effects and Foley stems, as well as the full mix in surround, a stereo fold down and an M&E. I would like to be able to have this option in the offline render as well. Perhaps this can be achieved by allowing multiple bounce sources.

I don't understand #2 - you mean freeze the output as it is right now, giving us the freedom to muck around with post-fader send sources? That might be kinda cool, I'll have to meditate on that one for a bit. I'd like to add two more: 1.) Freeze multiple tracks at once - I can't do that in Sonar X1 (to my knowledge) and I figure if we're going to be looking at a feature, we might as well make it bigger and better than some of the competition. 2.) Freeze multi-timbral synths to multiple tracks - this could be tricky, but if I have 5 MIDI tracks feeding into different ports of a synth, I'd like all those parts to be frozen to their own tracks so I can use solo/mute controls properly without muting everything. |

Re: Offline Bounce Wish List
Oh. Ya. I guess we agree on #1 there, I wasn't reading it quite like that.

"Yeah its easier and faster... but thats about it." -DUC member dissing accelerated bounce.
Perfect. I'll be so happy when I don't have any reason to complain about this again. |

Re: Offline Bounce Wish List
That's about the most amusing comment I've ever seen. It's better in every way, but that's all that's good about it".
