The simplest is going to be a plug-in that can sample the noise and you adjust how much of that noise signature is removed from the audio file.

Izotope is great at this, but there are other noise reduction plug-ins out there from Bias, Waves, etc.

I'm not terribly up on retail costs of all the possibilities, but you might look for a DINR auth, as I know they can be found for under $50 on ebay.

+1 for Izotope RX

also DTS you may want to rethink the Ebay scenario

Authorized US Avid Resellers do not sell Avid products on eBay.com or other online auction sites in the US. If you purchase a Avid product from an online auction site, you may be purchasing from someone other than an Authorized Avid Reseller, and your software product may not be registered.

You may do a free trial of the waves plug.

Its the Xnoise bundle. The trial is great the plug is really expensive to buy. Reasonable to rent. Amazing to have during the trial. I tried it and really really liked it but could not justify the price vs RX

ps you need an ilok to be given the trial license.

hehehe, indeed that was a dark period in ProTools' life...

Back to the subject:
Forget about DINR, never worked for me, AT ALL
Wave Arts have a great noise supressour pluggin
Sonnox has one, really expensive though
iZotope RX might be in the middle

Good call - title changed. I sometimes blast through posts so quickly that titles don't register, or the fact that they may be in the wrong forum. Thanks for pointing that out...the last thing I need is more red herring white noise posts...!

Avid resellers cannot sell on Ebay, but private parties can, which is the only reason I'd send someone there. Obviously we'd want you to buy retail from an Avid reseller, but I'm not so 'sales' oriented that I won't try to give someone an alternative. Maybe I should reconsider that, given our stock price.

Thanks for looking out for me, though!
