Hi,

The interface is a focusrite 18i8 2nd generation. My computer is on Windows 10 (version 10.0.14393). It has 8GB RAM. I've tried all the USB ports but unfortunately that still hasn't helped.

Thanks again for the suggestion!

Is this happening while playing back new material you record in new empty sessions? Or on old sessions or old content?

Trash prefs
Reboot the computer and interface.
Use the control panel set the sample rate.
Create a *new* Pro Tools session at the same sample rate.
Does that work?
If not what does does the control panel think the sample rate is now? (while Pro Tools is open). What is the session sample rate?
If that did not work try all the above again at a different sample rate.
Still problems you should call Focusrite support.

Hi Stef.

Does your computer have USB3 connectors (blue plugs)?

Mine has and I had to go to the BIOS and change them to USB2 mode in order to run with the 18i8 (2nd gen.).

Hi Everyone,

I've fixed the issue now and it turns out that it is the most embarrassing cause imaginable...

I use the keyboard to set recording enable away (CTRL + Spacebar). I've never had any issue with this. It was only when I was spending some more time trying to troubleshoot this evening that I realised my "shift" key had jammed itself... Turns out if you use "CTRL" + "Shift" + "Spacebar" it records at half the speed (and as it was playing back at the usual speed it all was fine).

Needless to say I'm incredibly embarrassed! Thank you for all of your help. If anyone else ever has this issue maybe double check you aren't being as special as me....

Thanks (and sorry)
