Default Fix wow & flutter?

I just got booked for some restoration/mastering of analog reels, dats, and audio cassettes. They have already been digitized (tapes were baked etc.) by a good engineer, and will be given to me as files. I have not heard any of it yet. The client tells me one of the cassette transfers has wow and flutter (probably only wow). QUESTION: is there anyway to fix the wow? None that I am aware of...

Help !!!

Can't speak as to it's ability to 'fix the wow' but it sure elicited a couple from me.

So, if it's a continuing project, you own it in no time...

What kind of project doesn't let you ding the client $40/day for tools that make the work possible...?

Maybe I'm misreading your intent? "Be prepared...?" C'mon.

As Celemony Capstan costs US $4,458/or 5-day Rental US $199

I’d first be looking at
https://goodhertz.co/faq#how-do-the-free-trials-work
Goodhertz WOW Control US$129
https://goodhertz.co/wow-ctrl

(I haven’t used either)

Well, now I need to deal with wow&flutter again, for another gig. Izotope RX 8 Advanced now includes "Wow & Flutter". $599 upgrade from RX Standard, which is what I currently have. I suppose that's my best option, but it's really expensive. Does anyone here have this? Does it work? Any advice? Thanks.

Closure to an old thread: I ended up surgically fixing the portion of wow (not really flutter) with Melodyne, polyphonic mode, pitch and also pitch modulation edits. It took a while, but it mostly worked out.

Default Re: Fix wow & flutter?

i like Wow, gives a nice analog feeling... IF its under +/-20cents,

Technics SL-1200 Mk2 turntables good repaired have +/-5cents...
most other turntables gemini, stanton st.150, denon, pioneer plx1000, have direct drive from same china design manufacturer, ReLoop or other name i cant remember... Onmisomething...

same PCB....
those have best case scenario +/-10cents.

more than 30c becomes annoying, +/-40cents its a Technics about to fail.

tested with Ultimate Analog Test LP 1Khz tone, Not the traditional 3KHz tone...
higher the frequency has less wow...

Latest DJ software that use a TimeCode Vinyl eliminate Wow,

older Not, DJDecks 0.99 was amazing to impregnate Wow to a Pure Digital file.
VirtualDJ7 was ok, but Not as good.
older Rate Serato...

its like Salt & Sugar...
too much is bad, too little its tasteless.
