Setting up MIDI w/an MPC 1000

I have newly acquired an MPC 1000 (at long last). In my signature below is my entire studio setup.

The thing is, I want to track my beats from my MPC 1000 into M-Powered. I have searched for the answer here but nothing that is specific to my particular setup.

What I'm wondering is this: Is it possible to use the MIDI in/out of my Axiom 61 for the MIDI information and use the outputs of my MPC to the 2 line/instrument inputs on my MobilePre USB?

Would this work?

Or would I have to get a mixer board to route audio into the MobilePre for the audio?

I am hoping to get this resolved.

Any help would be great.

that just sucks, this is frustrating me and no one can give me a straight answer, not even on the MPC forums.

You don't need a mixer. Just plug the audio outputs of the MPC into the inputs of the interface. I don't have an MPC so I don't know the level of the outputs. You should check your manual to see if they're instrument or line level.
