if you do the math, 8 simultaneous 24bit/44.1khz streams will take 8467200 bits per second. if i remember correctly, usb1.1 is 11mbps. even 48khz should fit, it takes 9216000 bits per second. if i remember correctly, mbox has always been 48khz max, so higher resolution will not be an issue.

Ever put an Mbox in a more portable enclosure?

...it is possible. But it's not condoned.

The problem is that you are forbidden to do this type of modification in your Product License and Usage Agreement.

It doesn't look as if it will fit a 17", you wouldn't be able to zip the thing up.
That is a little silly isn't it?
