Mbox--Glyph X Project/Oxford 911 Chip
I am using an Mbox and am running Pro Tools LE 6.1.1 for Windows XP. I am considering the purchase of a Glyph X Project 40GB Firewire Drive. The drive is being liquidated and has never been used, although it was manufactured in November of 2001. Does anyone know whether this particular drive uses the Oxford 911 bridge chip and if this would be a better choice than an internal IDE 7200 rpm Drive? Thanks. . .

Re: Mbox--Glyph X Project/Oxford 911 Chip
I would just purchase this enclosure:
Bytecc ME-720U2F USB2.0/1394 HD Enclosure or ADS Pyro 1394 Drive Kit With that, you could purchase any IDE drive you want, and when it is used up, you can use the enclosure with a new hard drive. It would seem that it would be both more cost effective and an overall easier solution. |

Re: Mbox--Glyph X Project/Oxford 911 Chip
If it's being liquidated at an incredibly low price, it might be OK. Otherwise, those Glyph boxes (have you seen the one that looks like an Mbox?) are WAY overpriced, compared to buying a generic Oxford 911 enclosure and a 7200 rpm HD.
I wouldn't pay more than $80-$100 for it.

Re: Mbox--Glyph X Project/Oxford 911 Chip
I use an X project with my Digi001, no problems, format Fat32.
