So now THIS is the proper way to BTD???
I found this little diddy on the DUC recently and wondered if any of ya'll operate this way:
"Here are the two scenarios. First with out sample rate conversion the second with." 1. (Dither to 16-bit on master fader) -> (Bounce to 16-bit) 2. (Dither to 16-bit on master fader) -> (SRC 48 to 44.1) -> (Bounce to 16-bit) In the first case the dither is the last operation is the signal chain, so all is well, but in the second case the SRC is the last signal processing element in the signal chain (the results of which will be truncated by the bounce to 16-bit). To get around this problem I recommend: (SRC 48 to 44.1) -> (Bounce to 24-bit) -> (import back into PT) -> (Dither to 16-bit on master fader) -> (Bounce to 16-bit) I know this is a pain, and we'd like to improve the workflow at some point, but I think this is currently the best option. -------------------- Chris Townsend Digidesign Engineering So...anyone doing it this way? Is this something that's been common knowledge and I just missed it somehow? Your thoughts? 'Ol 88' |
