96 vs 192
Hi there, i have been using a 96 I/O with my HD1 for some time. I am presently upgrading to an HD2 set-up and am wondering about upgrading to a 192 I/O.
I have heard a lot of mixed input about the perceived difference between the 96 and the 192. Can a significant quality difference be heard between the two? Thanks. |

Re: 96 vs 192
Yes!
You can even hear a quality difference for your HD96 once you clock it to HD192 interface (but whether that's significant is up for debate). The 192 has a great clock...

Re: 96 vs 192
I have been told that the 192 uses the same clock that a stock 002 does
email me off list if interested and I can forward the info [email protected] |

Quote:
002@96k souds about as open as HD96@48k and it is not all about converter quality. Also, HD96 sounds better when clocked to HD192 which would be impossible had the HD192 same clock than 002 HD192 clock is comparabe to Apogee's, but not with LE hardware.
