Avid editors 003 and protools

Hi
Is there any way I can get avid media composer to work with the 003?
I get the error 'cant find any audio card' when I launch media composer.Can pro tool and avid be installed at the same time and in what order?

I would appreciate some help as I am very stuck at the moment.

In the control panel, try setting the default recording device to your computers sound card and default playback to the 003. Have you been able to get audio other than Pro Tools to play back through the card, such as itunes, media player etc.?

Thanks a million for the quick reply.I didnt try this but would the on board effect pt?
I could never get 003 to work with itunes etc. media player is fine.


I have noticed that the digi audio drivers that the composer installs effects pt.
Is there any other way I could do it?

You should install avid programs and then protools.

To get your harware to work with avid programs, you need to set it once you open the project. Open New project audio settings, and under hardware you should see your digi interfase. Select it, and if necesary you can check the rest of the settings in that screen.

I use Newscutter, and this is the way I generaly do it.
