Default Radio broadcast sample rate

I've always recorded and mixed radio spots at 44.1K 16bit. Delivery to clients is WAVs and MP3s.

Is there any sample rate standard for radio broadcast files? I'm pretty sure it's the MP3s that are being used for broadcast so 44.1 makes sense to me. But I've seen radio masters that are 48K so I thought I'd put this out for comments.

Thanks,
Bob

I send my clients .wav files @ 48k 24Bit and Mp3's @ 48K 320kbps
Commercial Code number in the file name

Let them decide which one to traffic

Thanks Bond - so it appears that either sample rate will do!

I always work at 48K since thats what any session with picture will be at and you don't have to change any clocking. 95% of the time the delivery is slated and unslated MP3 files.

The BBC in the UK require 44.1k 16 bit. As radio stations play a lot of CDs which are at 44.1 it makes sense for them to run at 44.k but some run their playout systems at 48k.

Mike.
