Default Problem syncing vocals with drum track

I have been scouring the interwebs for days now trying to find out how to sync my pre recorded vocal track to my self produced drum track. I'm not sure why I need to in the first place since they were both recorded with the same tempo. Anyway, I had no problem with this in Acid, you could edit the original tempo within properties. All I have seen so far is an overall project tempo setting in ProTools. Am I missing something?, because there's only like 4 different settings in the whole program that I've seen.

Using ProTools M-Powered

If they truly were recorded at the exact same tempo - same interface, same clock, same temperature - then all you'll need to do is line them up. That is, start the vocal at the right place and it will stay in sync.

If they don't stay in sync, then there was some variation in clocking that caused the nominally equal tempos to be slightly different. In that case, you can change the tempo of one or the other using Elastic Audio. Chapter 41 in the manual, assuming you're using PT9 MP. If you're using an earlier version, you should move this question to this forum.

With Elastic Audio, you don't enter a tempo number, you just squinch it or stretch it with the TCE tool until it's right. Or you could get the session tempo to match your vocal (by trial and error), then quantize the drums in Elastic. Whichever sounds better.
