Default What is going on here?

WOW! I have recently switched to another online forum related to pro audio and haven't been here much lately.

I cannot believe the lack of civility and disrespect that has all of a sudden cropped up in the forums. Pointing out grammatical errors rather than trying to help solve problems, flame wars, name-calling... holy cow, you'd think this was the bad old days on IRC.

What happened? Some of those who are guilty are long time users here! I am dismayed.

Let's all sing-along:

You've got to accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between

You've got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
Have faith or pandemonium
Liable to walk upon the scene

Now it's somewhat worse, but we hope that it will be better soon.

*...but we hope that it will soon be better.

"Soon" is a preposition and as such, should not be used to end a sentence.

haha. Funny.

And wrong, too! It's perfectly okay to end a sentence in English with a preposition. The prohibition against ending a sentence with a preposition comes from Latin grammar rules, not English rules.
It's a long-held myth that is still taught in a lot of public schools.

Mostly because of the internet.......Nowadays people post ignorant things because they can hide behind a computer and they feel like someone and dont have to worry about the person on the other end kicking the [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep] out of them. That's what the internet has created, a bunch of heartless ***** people.

imoo of course.

First post is

"I cannot believe the lack of civility and disrespect that has all of a sudden cropped up in the forums. Pointing out grammatical errors rather than trying to help solve problems, flame wars, name-calling... holy cow, you'd think this was the bad old days on IRC."

Then

"haha. Funny.
