CD playback is lower in pitch than it ever sounded in PT
I am definitely showing my inexperience here...but here is what i've figured out so far. For this particular project I decided to record at 48k. i used an external clock for this. what i didn't realize, however, was that i made the session a 44.1k session. i noticed that the LED on the Digi 002 would flicker on the 48k the whole time (meaning that it never locked up with the external clock)...but i pressed on. because of this problem i am now experiencing something AWFUL. any time i take a CD out to my car to listen to the track, the pitch of the whole thing is significantly lower than what it should be. this pitch change only shows up after i've made either a CD or mp3 of it...it does not show up during normal playback in pro tools. i can't figure out how to remedy the situation since pro tools won't give me an option to convert it back down to 44.1k since it thinks the song is already at 44.1k.
let me know if you guys have any suggestions. thanks! and again...i will never make this bonehead mistake again. |
