Drums through a 003 rack
Hey,
Just about to record live drums for the first time using a 003 rack. My question is how do i set up the mic input on the 003 rack being only 4 mic inputs? is there a way to plug in more mics? Cheers! |

Re: Drums through a 003 rack
There's at least a few ways to add mic inputs here. You have 4 line inputs(5 thru 8) where you can patch most any mic preamp or mixer(anybody got an old Mackie hanging around?). Then you have the lightpipe input that can accept any of the 8 channel lightpipe preamps on the market(from the $200 Behringer ADA8000, all the way up to the $3000 Focusrite ISA828). lots of choices there.(just remember to set your clock source to Optical and set the sample rate to the same setting on ALL devices to match your session). Some lightpipe options to check into:
Behringer ADA8000 Presonus D8, Firestudio, DigiMax, DigiMax LT Focusrite OctoPre, OctoPre Mk II, ISA-428 w/option card, 4-710
