Default Micro problems

I use an HD system at the studio and have an Mbox2 Micro (PT 7.3) on a Mac Mini at my home just to access session backups. This combination works fine, but yesterday at the studio we tried to press the Micro into service on 2 different Macbooks to do some quick session edits while the main HD system was busy. Bad idea!
The client's Macbook with PT8 installed wouldn't even open with the Micro attached. Hung up on the PT start up screen. He was attempting to edit sessions that had been created in 8 on that computer.
My Macbook with PT 7.4 would open but would bomb with "low memory" or "end of logical file" or similar messages. I was attempting to open a session from my HD system 6.7 which I do all the time with this Micro at home.
Both Macbooks are working/reliable PT systems when coupled with their normal interfaces (Mbox and 003R). Neither my client or I would want to risk disturbing these working systems by changing them to accommodate running the Micro. Mine is used on remotes and since it employed in critical situations, rock solid reliability is something you just don't start messing with.
Is the Micro only usable on the original computer that it was installed on?
Seems like this would seriously limit its use.

Default Re: Micro problems

Found the problem. The hard drive used to transfer the files to the two Macbooks was at fault. Somehow it was corrupting the sessions. Once I tried another transfer drive the Micro works fine on the Macbook. Don't have a clue how the drive was messing up but it caused this problem on three different computers spread over two days and eventually the old "light bulb" came on.
