Digi 002 or 003 and a Macbook Pro and Firewire drive-ok?
I have a Macbook Pro and was thinking of upgrading from my Mbox 2 to a 002r or 003r or even an 003. Is this a good idea with a Macbook Pro that only has a single firewire 400 port? Is it ok to daisy chain the drive with the 002 or 003? Or, is this a recipe for disaster?

You can hook up the fw drive to your Macbook Pro and hook up the 002/003 to the fw drive.
I think a better solution is to get a firewire card for your Macbook Pro, that way, you will have a separate firewire bus.

That's an interesting idea!
So, if I got one of these could I add Firewire 800 to my Macbook Pro and use that for my Firewire 400/800 OWC Mercury drive?? http://fwdepot.com/thestore/product_...roducts_id/651

You might want to check compatibility of firewire cards on the Digi website.
But yeah, if you added a compatible firewire card to your MacBook Pro, then you could connect your OWC to it.

Re: Digi 002 or 003 and a Macbook Pro and Firewire drive-ok?
Thanks for the tips everyone, I had no idea.
If I didn't get a 002 or 003 is it still worth getting that Firewire 800 adaptor? Would that make a big difference with my Mbox 2 and my Mercury Elite OWC?
