Low Latency Monitoring LLM - Finally working but crazy fix
10.8.4 pt11.1.2HD omni thunderbolt native
After a nightmarish session with trying to cut extra vocals on a huge mix , and having never been able to get LLM working at all, i spent half a day figuring it out as I've seen other people with seemingly similar problems. I use an omni and a small mixer 1+2 stereo mix PT to mixer out to speakers, 3+4 out in PT to mixer to speakers (latched so speakers/phones giving me mix of pt 1-4 outputs. I set LLM to use 3+4 instead of 1+2. Input monitor can see my vocal input and hear it through 3+4, the channels set output. As soon as LLM is ticked and the track plays, the meters remain lit but not audible.stop track - input is audible again. turn LLM tick off and can hear input as track plays, through 3+4, but latent as you would expect. Solution: Drag recording/monitoring track to the top of all tracks ( I always track at the bottom) , toggle LLM selected output and LLM tick so ticked again. Track is now audible as track plays , and records as you would expect with LLM mode. Sometimes just dragging to the top makes this work. Is this a known bug? It's the first time i've ever been able to get it to work. I have a session that I can repeat this on. Apologies if this is known, I haven't seen it anywhere In my case I also updated the firmware of the Omni, so not sure if this is also a necessary step for all, but bug as above is still present post update. |

Re: Low Latency Monitoring LLM - Finally working but crazy fix
LLM is some kind of random problem generator.
I never know what is going to happen when I turn it on!

Re: Low Latency Monitoring LLM - Finally working but crazy fix
I've had random LLM bugs with pro tools ever since I got HD native. I can get it to work if I choose different outputs, record enable and then set the llm output back. Then it seems to work until I close the session. Sucks. My 002 was more reliable with LLM, although not with much else.

Re: Low Latency Monitoring LLM - Finally working but crazy fix
This is indeed crazy! I tried your steps and did get the LLM to work for a few times!
This is definitely not normal, that you have to drag the track to be the first and toggle everything. The bad news is, it's very erratic, and as soon as you go in/out Input Monitoring or Record mode, or switch tracks around or do some other assignments, everything gets messed up again. But I will definitely point this out to Avid in my current discussion with them. Amazing I only now found this thread! |
