Default Pro-Tools crashing when trying to load Xpand

Recently I had been away from my home studio for a few weeks and so hadn't used it. A few days ago I decided to boot it up, only to have Pro-Tools freeze during start up. Every time I start it up it crashes when trying to load the Xpand! plug-in. I am using Pro Tools 8 and I upgraded to cs3 but it still doesn't work, even though everything was fine the last time I used it. Can anyone help me? I am about to just try reinstalling pro-tools completely from scratch, but would like to avoid that if possible.

My basic setup:
Dell XPS 710
Intel core 2 duo E6700 processors at 2.66ghz each
Nforce4 SLI Intel Edition chipset
4gb DDR2 Ram
Geforce GTX 260 video card

M-Audio ProjectMix I/O
Pro-Tools 8.0cs3

You probably loaded Internet Explorer 8 sometime during that period? Or let Windows Update do it for you?

That's my guess.

Uninstall Internet Explorer 8. Read THIS LINK.

Thanks, I will try uninstalling that and get back to you. I don't even use IE8 but auto-update must have put it on without me noticing. I will uninstall and get back to you.
