Default Protools and Hard Drives

Pro tools M-Powered doesn't save my proyects in my new hard drive.

I have Pro Tools 7, and work in a Pentium IV, 2.8 Ghz, 768RAM, three (3) IDE hard drives and CD-RW.

IDE port Nº 1: 8GB Hard Drive for windows sistem (master) and 40GB hard drive (slave) to other softwares and files (pro tools, vst's, ableton, drivers, My Documents, etc)

IDE port Nº2: 80GB Hard Drive (master) recently bought for pro tools sesions, and a CD-RW (slave)

when I create a new pro tool's session, can´t save it in 80GB hard drive. An error message says it´s not an Audio Volume ("volumen de audio" in spanish)....

What's wrong???

Two possibilities:
  • The drive is formatted as a dynamic drive. Pro Tools only supports basic drive types (covered in the getting started guide)
  • The Workspace Volume Designator is set to "T" for the drive in question

You're going to have to re-format the drive, so if there's anything on it, back it up.

Microsoft Info on Basic Drive types

Hello, I deleted the old volume, converted and re-formated it to basic drive; but trouble still happen.
How could I know if the Workspace Volume Designator is set to "T" for the drive in question and fix it????

Note: the hard drive is a 80GB western digital, 7200 RPM and 8MB Cache.

There's a brief how-to on page 160 of the reference guide. But there is a more detailed explanation, including pictures, on Page 50 of the DigiBase Guide. (both guides should also be available from the help menu within the program).
