Default uninstalling 7.4 to upgared to pt9

do i do the full fat uninstall?? and lose all my plug-ins n stuff with 7.4 or can i do the recommended uninstall and keep the plug-ins and will they work with pt9 when i install it???
please help i'm a bit stuck on this one...

You want to do the "Clean" uninstall, which uninstalls everything. It won't affect your 3rd party plugins, so don't worry.

And all the Digi/Avid plugins that normally come with Protools, they will be reinstalled when you install PT9.

One thing to remember after you install PT9, is that you'll need to install the drivers for your hardware separately. This includes the Avid interfaces like the 002/003 and Mboxes, and these can be found on the Avid site.

I mention that because previously, the drivers for the Avid/Digi interfaces would be installed with Protools, but with PT9, they are now separate.

If you're using another brand of interface, the drivers can be found on that manufacturer's website.

It is always a good idea to have a good backup of your hard drive before performing any upgrade. I usually clone the hard drive. That way I can easily get back to my previous setup in a snap.

I like to make a copy of the Plug-ins folder, the Settings folder and, the any I/Os I want to keep
