I attended the whole demo Mr. Slate did... personally didn't amaze me a bit... plus it is not much of a forward thinking product... surface controlled sets are already available for the consumer.

I talked to one of the head guys @ SoundToys...
He told me that the AAX Nativ/DSP coding is not as easy as what Avid seems to claim and that they will port over all their plugs to AAX DSP eventually...
However,their main focus right now is 64 bit...

He probably responded at the end of page one, not seeing page 2. I've done that. Honest mistake. I'm assuming.

I totally agree. I will never be attending another AES if this is the new standard.

Having said that, I must give serious props to the good folk at Vintage King and Studio Trilogy for putting on a stellar party at their outstanding beautiful studio. Great crowd of people. It more than made up for the disappointing show.
