When using the import audio dialog, "Copy" is the command to copy files into your session folder. "Add" simply adds them to your session without copying. If the "Convert" option is there, Pro Tools recognizes that the file format you are coming from needs to be converted to be compatible with your current Pro Tools session. This should convert and copy the files into your session folder.

I've had instances in the past where just checking 'copy files on import' didn't do the trick by itself, so I've gotten into the habit of checking that and 'convert files to session format' as well.

Seems the two of them together usually ensure that I'll have the 'convert' option available to me in the Import Audio dialog, although I still have to manually click the 'convert' button in Pro Tools on PC, as it wants to default to 'add' if I just hit enter (regardless of my preference settings), which is infuriating. Didn't do that on Mac.
