Default Press play and nothing happens...still

Is this issue ever going to be fixed? I've had it off and on for at least the past four years, using multiple versions of Pro Tools, several interfaces, entirely different computers, hell even while living on different continents. It's obviously a bug with the software or the way it interacts with ASIO, but will it ever be fixed??

Don't really see the point of that since it happened on so many different computers...shall I list them all? Anyway I'm just venting, I didn't expect to get any help with it. It's been reported since at least 2009...

Happens to me about once a month. I just close PT and re-open and that seems to clear it up every time.

That's usually what I do. This time, however, I closed Pro Tools and opened Reaper. Once I finish my current PT projects, think I'm done with it for the foreseeable future.

In the future, please state that you don't really want a solution to the problem so you don't waste other people's time.

Can I vent too? What the f were you thinking? This is user forum and your fellow users are thinking you need help with something and you are just joking When you actually have a problem maybe people are thinking you are joking again...

Still, the issue described is real. I've seen it discussed here, but that was a long time ago. I had it myself, with PT8 I think, and had to just live with it until a update of some sort fixed it. I remember it well, because it was very irritating. I never saw an explanation.
