Default Thunderbolt not Being Recognized

I just bought a new iMac i7 with Thunderbolt ports as well as a new UA Apollo Twin Duo interface. But when I hook it up neither the system profiler nor the UA software recognizes the UA device. The cable is also new, and I will try replacing that to see is it's merely a defective cable. But I was wondering if anyone else has had any issues with their Thunderbolt ports.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

What device driver did you install?

What UAD install documentation are you following?

What *exactly* is shown under the Thunderbird section of the OS X System Information utility. Cut and paste that text here.

Thanks for your reply!

I downloaded the Mac driver, per the "Getting Started" instruction card. And it then told me to open the UA meter and add activate plug-ins. The UA meter says "no devices found" and when I actually try to go in anyway and Uthorize plug-ins a message comes up with the logo that says "Please check device connections and power, then click "Authorize Plug-ins again." Btw, on my iPad here or would cut and paste the messages.

The system profiler shows nothing at all. I then switched out another device (a back-up drive) with the other Thunderbolt port, and it still recognized that drive but no sign of the US device being recognized at all. I should also mention that the UA interface starts up fine, so I'm inclined to think it is the cable. But again, any other ideas you have would be most welcome!

Yes if the thunderbolt section says somethign like "no hardware found" or shows no devices at all (not naming the device correctly, but just nothing listed that might be the Apollo even if it looks cryptic) then it is more likely to be a cable or device hardware issue.

Power cycling/rebooting the computer, Power cycling the UAD, swapping the cable, unplugging all possible other Thunderbolt peripherals, trying a different Thunderbolt port, and testing the Apollo on another computer are all things to try, but I'd be contacting UAD support petty soon if you don't make progress.
