Any thoughts?
Well, I have 4 drives in my tower. 2 are OS drives, one is for recording to, and the 4th is for samples. All but one are formatted HFS+. My OSX drive has a custom bootloader from tonymacx86, which allows me to boot to OSX or Windows (the 2nd OS drive, and the only one formatted NTFS) at my leisure. Took me very little time to get up and running, with just a few tweaks to optimize my GPUs. The real trick isn't so much the hard rives, but for the other components to behave nicely with OSX.

There is a lot of information out there, but the best resource by far is tonymacx86. Fairly complete list of verified parts, links to all the software you need to get going, and a strong community dedicated to helping each other.

The next mac pro will be shaped like a tractor.

This is the biggest EPIC FAIL Apple has ever made on so many levels that I can't number all of them, there Internet doesn't have enough room for it.

This will be a very rude awakening for all TV networks/studios, Recording studios, small/med/big post houses, dub stages, anyone else who uses protools (or any other DAW for that matter).
What the picture misses was the magma chassis for all your HDX or HDN card, video card, BM card and any other card. The plethora of cables, extra heat, noise this involves. Most networks/studios that have machine rooms..are designed to hold a mac pro or 2 side by side, etc. All that has to be re-arranged on a global level for the extra drives, cards, hard drives, video cards, HDX cards, etc, etc. And for those who have the mac pros in the mix or edit room (yes there a lot through out the audio post world) it's going to affect them in a very negative way. All the posts about the OMNI's fan noise or the HDX cards noise when you play larger sessions?
Well at least that noise will go away since it'll be masked by the extra fan noises by all this extra junk. Does everyone really have the extra space for yet ANOTHER magma chassis?
A couple of extra enclosures for your preferred video card?
I can go on and on. But you get the point.
And correct me if I am wrong, but with PT11 now finally utilizing all the ram finally, sessions can now run way faster and larger, 32gb or ram is so dirt cheap these days, max it out to 64 on a SSD and your are really running a powerful mix session, how is a new black glossy vase running a billion ghz speed going to make your session run that much faster?
If it's a 2 hour feature you're listening to, well you can't listen to it a billion times faster, you listen to it in real time. Okay so maybe you can offline bounce a 200+ track 5.1 film in a 2 seconds using this new flower vase with the extra 3-5K in extra peripherals. I don't think this will make it a life changing moment.

But I could be wrong, just my 2 cents
