Default Mouse Keyboard momentarily freeze

I continue to get the cursor and screen freezing for a few seconds a number of times a day. Anyone else getting this? I called Avid. They said turn off wifi and bluetooth but it didn't help. It's only happening with Pro Tools as far as I can tell.

Well I need Ethernet for my S1. Also, I would find it somewhat inconvenient to have no internet on the machine as I routinely upload and download files. Is this something specific to Mac mini’s? I’ve never had to disconnect before with a series of Mac pros over the last 20 years.

What screen are you using with the Mini? What resolution is it set at?

Not ideal, but if you’re using a hi-red display, try scaling it down to see if it changes anything.

Hmmm... I doubt it’s that then.

Neale:
What browser are you using? Firefox gets used here (hate Safari) and lately some websites appear to be running some kind of script that locks up/freezes my wife's Mac Mini.

I am using Safari. That’s a good suggestion. Let me make sure nothing else is running and see if it happens.

Is the computer otherwise responsive? Continues to pass audio and refresh the display?

It’s hard to tell. I have had this happen while recording a few times and the audio stops but then catches up. Of course if one is overdubbing or tacking to a click, it ruins the pass. I have never had recording stop in 15 years of using a DSP pro tools system.
