Default Only on board mic showing

Hi, I'm a complete novice at this type of software. So I'm using Pro Tools First, and have an old mic SoundPro something or other from maplin. The computer recognizes it as 2-c-media audio device. It's a USB mic. However Pro Tools First doesn't display it as an option when I try to change it in the playback engine.

Does the mic have an available ASIO driver(Windows) or Core Audio driver(Mac)? ASIO4ALL is a freeware ASIO driver for Windows that may work. For PT to work with it, it must be available and selected to be the "audio engine" in PT. Check youtube for some tutorials on getting started with pro tools.

Thanks for the quick response. I installed ASIO, I don't know what I'm doing with it though so I'll look up some YouTube. I have some questions regarding why it shows as out as well as in?
Not sure how to add a picture, which would have helped.

EDIT: I may have just added the screen shot as an attachment

"why it shows as out as well as in?"
Not exactly sure what you mean, but Pro Tools can only use a single device(aka "audio engine") so inputs and outputs must go thru the same device

Most USB mics have a headphone jack so you can monitor while you're recording... ProTools is seeing it as an interface, which it is.
